AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose went to war during the TLC main event, and in the end it was AJ Styles who walked out with the gold. Both men gave it all they had, and there were several high risk maneuvers that were executed during the match.
According to reports from fans who were in attendance for TLC, AJ Styles fell to the mat after the show went off the air and he was then checked on by trainers. AJ Styles was seen pointing at his left foot, and he was also seen trying to move the foot. Styles did walk out on his own, but he was apparently walking with a noticeable limp.
These reports are of course from fans who were in attendance, so it remains to be seen if AJ did suffer any sort of injury that may keep him out of the ring. If you watch the TLC main event, then you could understand why someone like AJ Styles would be walking with a limp after wrestling a match like that. As of right now any rumors regarding a possible AJ Styles injury remain unconfirmed, and WWE has yet to make any sort of announcement regarding AJ’s status, so it’s possible he was just banged up and/or selling.
In any case, it certainly doesn’t look like AJ Styles was the only one that was banged up during the match, as an additional report from PWInsider also notes that Dean Ambrose was “rushed” to the back behind Styles.
AJ Styles retained his title with a little help from James Ellsworth on Sunday, and later on Talking Smack it was announced that Ellsworth will be challenging AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship Tuesday on SmackDown Live.
