Samoa Joe challenged Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Dallas and the two men went to war. Samoa Joe was busted open early in the match thanks to a well placed headbutt, and his body quickly became covered in blood. The match was stopped a few times so that the referee could clean up the color and the crowd responded with some pretty amusing “F**k PG!” chants.
There was lots of brawling on the outside of the ring with Samoa Joe throwing Finn Balor into the crowd.

Balor then stood Joe up and tried to put Joe in a hold. Samoa Joe reversed it and put Balor in the Coquina Clutch, but then Balor placed his feet on the top turnbuckle and flipped it around into a pin to end the match.

After the match Finn Balor celebrated with the title as Samoa Joe sat in disbelief. Joe stared Balor down as he made his way back up the ramp. He looked as if he wanted to attack Balor but he restrained himself and left.

WWE mentioned Bobby Roode before the match started and they acknowledged the fact that he was at ringside, but they didn’t mention him again before the show went off the air.
