It’s no big secret that WWE is searching for their next big Latin star. They recently signed former NJPW and CMLL wrestler Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza better known as La Sombra.
According to F4Wonline.com, WWE officials are very high up on La Sombra and they feel that they’ve signed a great talent. La Sombra has a reputation for being professional and it’s said that it would be unlikely for him to rub people the wrong way backstage. La Sombra speaks English very well and some feel that he could have the crossover appeal needed to become WWE’s top Latin star.
Whether La Sombra will wear a mask in WWE remains to be seen. But it was noted recently on Wrestling Observer Radio that La Sombra is charismatic enough to the point where wearing a mask might work against him. The feeling was that wearing a mask made him look like a generic luchador which caused him to have to work harder to overcome any issues related to his look.
