The final segment of the recent Steve Austin/Paul Heyman podcast is now infamous. Heyman asked Austin if he was interested in facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 and Austin immediately went into promo mode. The segment built up a lot of interest in a possible Lesnar vs Austin match but Austin quickly put any hype to rest saying that the match isn’t going to happen.
So how did Vince McMahon feel about the segment? According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince wasn’t happy with the end of the podcast because Austin vs Lesnar is not in the WWE’s plans for WrestleMania 32. They also mention that there was a discussion which took place after the podcast between Vince and Steve Austin where Vince reportedly asked Austin to address to the story once and then move on so it would go away quietly.
Vince was said to be really upset at Austin.
