Steve Melhausen of SportingNews.com caught up with Jerry Lawler at C2E2 in Chicago and talked about a few different topics. Lawler brought up the topic of star power and said that WWE stars outshine UFC stars in popularity. You can check out a quote below and watch the full interview above.
“I think a lot of people would look at that as saying, oh here’s a big star from the UFC coming into the WWE world. In the grand scheme of things, the stars in the WWE far outshine the stars in the UFC worldwide and in popularity. It’s always a great marriage so to speak. When you can get the rub off of each other. It’s like cross-promotion. It’s good for everybody involved. And to see Ronda Rousey in a WWE ring and I know for me because I’m a big fan of her, it was exciting, it was fun and it caused a bit of talk which is exactly what it was designed to do.”
