CM Punk will be walking teammate UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis to the cage tonight when he defends his title against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185. Steven Muehlhausen of SportingNews.com spoke with Pettis who said CM Punk’s attitude has surprised him so far. You can read a quote below and listen to the full interview above.

“I just didn’t know what to expect,” Pettis said. “You see him on TV. I met him a couple times. You really don’t know what to expect from anybody. He came into the gym, you come into the practice room and you have two world champions on the floor, you have CM Punk, you have one of the most Olympic level wrestlers and everybodies is just training together. Everybody blends in and there’s no superstar. There’s no one person who gets more attention. Its just a team full of guys that all want to get better.”

The Hockey News has an interview with Punk at this link, who talked about hockey fight technique not helping him in the UFC.

“Proper technique and hockey fighting probably don’t go hand-in-hand,” Punk said. “I think it’s two different animals. If I had a shirt or sweater to grab onto, maybe. The only similarity I see is there’s some aspects of Muay Thai clinching when you’re getting into a hockey fight. You want to grab the back of somebody’s sweater, and tug down on their neck. That’s like a Muay Thai plum. Maybe me and Brandon Bollig have traded some secrets, but they’re not too extensive.”
