As seen on Monday, WWE has started to portrat John Cena as an “old man veteran” and apparently it’s a hot topic backstage. The Wrestling Observer reports that people within WWE have labeled the idea as “shockingly bad” and some are surprised Cena is going along with it.
The idea apparently is for Cena to be portayed similar to how Bruno Sammartino was in the late 1970s where although he was the most popular guy, the focus was put on someone else coming up such as Bob Backlund.
The biggest problem with this is that Cena’s fanbase is mostly women and children. Also Cena is just 37 years old and pretty far from an old man.
