Dominik Mysterio made his in-ring debut with WWE back in 2020 and in recent years Dominik has managed to achieve success as a singles star. Since turning heel and joining The Judgment Day in 2022, Dominik has managed to become a two time NXT North American Champion, a two time Intercontinental Champion and a one time AAA Mega Champion.
Even though Dominik has managed to achieve success on his own, it seems that there is no clear direction for him on WWE programming as it’s been some time since he’s been involved in a meaningful feud or storyline.
While talking about the direction of Dominik’s career on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Rey Mysterio shared his thoughts on why he feels Dominik needs to step up.
“I believe that Dom has worked to where he’s at now, on his own, after me just opening up the doors. Now he needs to take it to the next level. Whatever that level is, I don’t know. But, he needs to step up. I was always about, ‘What am I gonna do tonight?’ before a match. I wanna do a new move. And that was my way of thinking every time I would step out. I want the fans to remember something new, so I would go out there and do something new.”
It’s not exactly clear at this point in time what the next step is in terms of elevating Dominik’s career in WWE, but he did recently indicate that he wants to challenge for a world title and you can get more on that here.
