WWE has gone through some major changes over the last few years, and it looks like a big name will be stepping away in 2027 as it was recently reported that Bruce Prichard is planning to retire from his role as Executive Director of Creative Writing & Talent around WrestleMania season next year.
Fightful Select is reporting that the idea is Prichard will remain with the company, but work from home more. It’s also being reported that Bruce Prichard needs a very serious surgery that would lead to him coming off the road as he’s said to be feeling rough physically.
Prichard has reportedly been running shows the last couple of weeks as he’s been filling in for Triple H while The Game is on vacation. An internal memo was sent out about Bruce Prichard’s status with WWE earlier this year, however the details of the memo weren’t shared.
Fightful also recently interviewed Bruce Prichard’s Something To Wrestle co-host Conrad Thompson. While talking about the potential content that could be available for the show if Prichard stepped away from WWE, Thompson said “He knows that too. We did very, very well. I’m sure if and when the time is right and he is no longer living in Stamford, then then we’ll be able to figure something out. But I think that’s going to be the foreseeable future for a little while.”
