Crown Jewel is quickly approaching and there’s been a lot of talk ahead of the show regarding whether or not WWE should move the situation to a different location due to the recent attacks in Saudi Arabia.
During a recent episode of 2 Count Tuesday former WWE broadcaster Jonathan Coachman claimed that a connection told him there are people backstage who are furious about the situation with Crown Jewel. He also claimed that Kevin Owens, Danhausen and Sami Zayn do not want to go to Saudi Arabia.
“The names that I got given to me, that are backstage furious about this, but we have not seen one talent, not one has talked about this, has addressed this. And the other part of this is Cody and Roman in particular have been doing a lot of appearances for Street Fighter to promote that movie. I know if we had them on 2 Count, one of the first questions we would ask, unless we were told not to, would be ‘What are your feelings about Crown Jewel?’
Some of the names I got that do not want to go – Kevin Owens, Danhausen, Sami Zayn. So to me it is glaring that WWE and TKO have told their talent clearly ‘You do not comment on this.'”
As of this writing Kevin Owens is not booked for Crown Jewel as he’s set to face CM Punk on next week’s episode of SmackDown which will be taped at the Barclays Center on Monday. Sami Zayn however is booked to face Roman Reigns in a Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match.
