There have been a number of interesting WWE departures over the last few years, and Samantha Irvin shocked the world in 2024 when she announced that she was leaving WWE.
Fightful Select is reporting that Samantha Johnson, formerly known as Samantha Irvin in WWE, is set to become a free agent this month. Samantha chose to part ways with WWE two years ago, and had to wait out a lengthy non-compete clause as per the conditions of her departure.
It’s also being reported that there’s been speculation that Samantha could join All Elite Wrestling. According to the report the idea of Samantha joining the company has been discussed internally a number of times. However, it was made clear that it won’t be happening immediately after she becomes a free agent.
Samantha Johnson is currently married to AEW star Ricochet, and she has been backstage at a number of AEW events over the last few years. It’s being said that she has a great relationship with the company, but if she does appear for AEW it’s something that would likely happen down the road.
In 2025, Samantha teased during an interview that she’s not done with wrestling when she said, “That’s a guarantee. My wrestling career has barely even begun. I think it would be an absolute waste of everything that I’ve done so far to not continue the story. I gotta finish my story.”
