Professional wrestling isn’t for the weak as real injuries unfortunately happen from time to time, and now it seems that one of AEW’s top names will be out of action for the foreseeable future.

During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland announced that during the tables, ladders and chairs match at All Out, Christian Cage broke three ribs, one of which was broken in three places.

Copeland also announced that Christian suffered a collapsed lung. Cope then praised Christian for working through the injuries as he told the fans that Christian did it for them. He encouraged the fans to cheer for Christian who he said was watching at home.

At this point in time it’s not clear how long Christian will be out of action, but Cope made it clear that he’s focused on singles competition for the time being as the Hall of Famer declared that he will be retiring in 2027, and he wants to win the AEW World Championship.

Cope will have his chance to challenge for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream on Saturday as he defeated Josh Alexander on Dynamite to qualify for the Clockwork Carnage match.
