Roman Reigns put his title on the line at SummerSlam when he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins in the night 2 main event, and ultimately it was The Tribal Chief who walked out with the gold.
As this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was coming to an end, Rey Mysterio approached Roman Reigns and said that he had something to run by him. Fans have been speculating all week regarding what Rey said to Roman, and now we have an answer.
Today Rey Mysterio announced that a tournament will kick off next week on Raw and it will feature the best luchadores from Raw, SmackDown and AAA. The winner of the tournament will go on to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship when Raw airs live from Mexico City on Monday, September 14th.

At this point in time it’s not clear who will be in the tournament, but it’s safe to say that the next few weeks of WWE programming will likely be packed with some exciting, high flying action as the best luchadores compete for the right to challenge for the title.
