The annual SummerSlam premium live event kicked off on Saturday night at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show featured some big matches, one of which was The Bella Twins & Paige vs. Fatal Influence.
Throughout the match Brie Bella could be seen favoring her injury which led to immediate speculation that the Hall of Famer might have suffered an injury. Brie was able to finish the match that ended with Paige getting pinned, but it sounds like she’s in rough shape.
During the SummerSlam post-show Triple H confirmed that Brie Bella did indeed suffer a shoulder injury. He noted that he doesn’t know the extent of the injury, but said it seemed “pretty bad” while he confirmed that Brie was checked out backstage then taken to the hospital.
After the match The Bella Twins turned heel when they attacked Paige. It seems that WWE obviously had creative plans in place for The Bella Twins and Paige, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out and if plans need to be changed due to Brie’s injury.
There’s never a good time for a WWE star to be injured, but unfortunately this is extremely poor timing for The Bella Twins as Nikki just made her return to the ring at SummerSlam after spending several months sitting on the sidelines due an injury she suffered ahead of WrestleMania 42.
