This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired live from Providence, Rhode Island and the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments continued.
A first round Queen of the Ring match kicked off the night as Charlotte Flair, Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria and Jade Cargill faced off in a fatal four way match. During the match B-Fab and Michin started attacking Charlotte Flair. Alexa Bliss returned and made her way out into the arena to fight them off, then Tiffany Stratton ran out to back her up. Stratton battled Michin through the crowd and Bliss fought B-Fab up the entrance ramp.
Ultimately Charlotte Flair picked up the victory when she put Lyra Valkyria in the Figure 8 and made her tap out. Charlotte Flair will now go on to face Liv Morgan in the semifinals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. The winner of that match will face the winner of Iyo Sky vs. Raquel Rodriguez in the finals.
In the main event Jey Uso, Finn Balor, LA Knight and Royce Keys stepped into the ring for a first round King of the Ring match that was won by Jey Uso.
At one point during the match Royce Keys threw Jey Uso into the steel ring steps, so Jimmy Uso made his way out to confront him. Solo then came out to back up Royce Keys. Finn Balor, LA Knight and Jey Uso teamed up to triple powerbomb Royce Keys through the announce table. Balor hit Coup de Grace on Jey and Royce popped back up and pulled the ref out while he was counting the pin.
Near the end of the match Solo Sikoa hit LA Knight with the Samoan Spike, and Royce Keys pinned him. Jey Uso then hit a Uso Splash on both of them and pinned Knight to win the match.
Jey Uso will now go on to face Je’Von Evans in the semifinals, and the winner of that match will face the winner of Oba Femi vs. Dominik Mysterio in the finals at Night of Champions.
Stay tuned for updates.
