The WWE roster is loaded with talent at the moment, but some of the company’s biggest names have been sitting on the sidelines for various reasons. Now it seems that two big names could be returning sooner than later.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that an internal document that was circulating earlier this month included Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre’s names in connection with the SummerSlam premium live event in August.
Sources have indicated that both Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre appear to be on track to return in time for the two night event. Both men have been off television since WrestleMania 42 back in April.
No additional details have been revealed, but the fact that they were included in the document for SummerSlam seems to suggest that Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre are being considered for plans as WWE moves closer to SummerSlam.
Randy Orton last wrestled when he challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the night 1 main event at WrestleMania 42 in a match that ultimately saw Cody defeat Orton to retain the title. Drew McIntyre also lost at WrestleMania as he was defeated by Jacob Fatu in an unsanctioned match.
