This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw will air live from the Food City Center in Knoxville, TN and it’s shaping up to be a big show. Raw is set to deal with the fallout from the Backlash premium live event which aired live from Tampa on Saturday.
At Backlash, Iyo Sky picked up a big win over Asuka and Asuka got emotional as she seemingly said goodbye after the match. Following the show it was reported that Asuka is believed to be semi-retired and there’s been a lot of speculation regarding her status with WWE moving forward.
PWInsider is reporting that the word making the rounds within WWE is that Asuka could be returning to Japan for an extended period of time to deal with a family matter. However, that has not been fully confirmed at this point in time.
Amid rumors regarding Asuka being semi-retired it’s being reported that she is in Knoxville ahead of Raw tonight. At this point it’s not clear if there are plans for Asuka to appear on Raw tonight, but it’s being reported that she is, “ready to appear if WWE creative dictates.” As of this writing neither Asuka nor Iyo Sky are being advertised for the show.
