More WWE Stars Expected To Be Released

WWE releases have been a very hot topic recently as the company released over two dozen names following WrestleMania, and it was reported over the weekend that The New Day had mutually parted ways with WWE after they declined to restructure their deals.

Bryan Alvarez discussed the recent releases on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that he was told there are other names who are also expected to be cut that haven’t been announced yet.

“The whole New Day thing happened long before it was announced. When they did the first cuts over a week ago, I was texting back and forth with somebody about the cuts, and they were like, ‘I heard New Day.’ I said, ‘What?’ And then asked everybody. Nobody had heard New Day. Everybody was like, ‘There’s no way New Day could be cut. It wouldn’t happen.’ And then a week later New Day was gone.

I bring that up because, on Friday, somebody had also told me about Tonga Loa and Jeff Cobb, and there were other names this person mentioned that are apparently still there. So suffice to say, I think there are more names that are yet to be announced, but certainly watching SmackDown, there’s a lot of people I’m a little concerned about.”

Following the news of New Day being asked to restructure their deals with WWE, it’s also been reported that a “majorly pushed” WWE talent was asked to take a 50% pay cut, and you can get more details on that here.
