We’ve seen a lot of retirements in the professional wrestling world over the last year or so as Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles have all hung up their boots for good. Now another name has decided to retire from in-ring competition.
On the latest episode of NWA Powerrr, Trevor Murdoch told the fans that he’s not sure if he can do this anymore, and he doesn’t want to embarrass himself, his family, or Harley Race, so he officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling. He thanked the fans for the support, and he also thanked Billy Corgan for believing in him, and giving him an opportunity when no one else believed in him. The fans then gave him a standing ovation.

Trevor Murdoch started training back in 1997 and he signed with WWE in 2005 then went on to form a tag team with Lance Cade. Together they captured the World Tag Team Championship three times before Murdoch was released from his contract in 2008.
Following his release from the company Murdoch went on to compete for various companies on the independent scene and also had a run with TNA Wrestling in 2009.
Murdoch went on to announce his retirement in 2019, but later came out of retirement when he joined NWA in 2019. Throughout his run with NWA he managed to become a two time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, a one time NWA Tag Team Champion, and a one time NWA National Champion.
