For months now AJ Lee has been feuding with Becky Lynch and AJ managed to defeat Becky to become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion at the Elimination Chamber premium live event back in February. AJ and Becky faced off once again on Saturday night as AJ put the title on the line at WrestleMania 42.
At one point during the match Becky was arguing with referee Jessika Carr and she shoved the ref, but the ref shoved her back. Becky then turned around and AJ Lee hit her with the Manhandle Slam.
Lynch tried to hit AJ with the Manhandle Slam, however, AJ reversed it into the Black Widow. Becky got out of the hold and ripped a turnbuckle pad off. She pulled the referee toward her as AJ ran toward the corner. AJ stopped and the referee was distracted as she got out of the way. While the ref wasn’t looking Becky drove AJ’s head into the exposed turnbuckle and connected with the Manhandle Slam to win the match and the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Becky’s big victory was the second title change of the night as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship also changed hands and you can get more details on that here.
