This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a big coffin match which saw Darby Allin face off against Gabe Kidd. The match started out in the parking lot as Gabe Kidd was shown dodging a car that was speeding toward him.
After the car stopped Darby Allin hopped out and brawled with Kidd for a moment. He then poured liquid onto a rag and put the rag in Gabe Kidd’s face before throwing him in the trunk of the car. With Gabe Kidd locked away in the trunk Darby proceeded to drive toward a pile of scrap and he ended up flipping the car.
Darby managed to crawl out of the car then he popped the trunk as Gabe Kidd fell out. Allin placed Kidd on a road case and wheeled him into the arena.
Inside the arena Darby placed Gabe Kidd on a chair as he pulled out a straight jacket. Darby maanaged to get the straight jacket partially on Kidd before Kidd started to fight back. They battled back and forth for several minutes, but Kidd was clearly still feeling the impact from the car accident moments earlier.
At the end of the match Darby placed Kidd inside the coffin then ran the ropes and dove through to the outside. When he collided with Kidd the coffin lid closed and Darby won the match.
After the match he said he’s going to hold the throttle until he sees the AEW World Championship. Darby then made his intentions clear as he said, “Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I’m coming!”
