Braun Strowman parted ways with WWE last year when the company decided not to renew his contract, but the former Universal Champion has been busy since then. He’s been hosting the hit series Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman, and now he’s getting into the production side of things.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Adam Scherr (Braun Strowman) and his producing partner Nick Antonicelli will run a production company called Meat Castle Media alongside Magilla Entertainment (Moonshiners, Diesel Brothers, Beachfront Bargain Hunt).
The report notes taht the deal marks Magilla’s first talent-led production venture. Adam Scherr and Nick Antonicelli will work alongside Magilla chief development officer Kevin Duncan to create new unscripted series and formats, as well as podcasts spanning craft, competition, celebrity interviews and more. Duncan helped develop and produce Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman on the USA Network.
The first series from Meat Castle Media will be titled Hands On and it will focus on Scherr trying his hand at “a new unique craft in each episode.” The series is being described as, “like Dirty Jobs, just starring a 6’8″ goliath.”
“Nick and I couldn’t be more excited to re-team with Kevin, and work with the amazing folks at Magilla, to build a real force in the TV industry that puts talent, groundbreaking ideas and meaningful partnerships at the forefront,” Scherr said in a statement. “Magilla’s track record is second to none and we look forward to working with them to build a great slate of programming.”
“Adam’s talent, charisma and creativity have led to great success across multiple areas of entertainment,” Matthew Ostrom and Laura Palumbo Johnson, co-founders of Magilla Entertainment, said in a joint statement. “With Meat Castle Media, we’re working with him and Nick to develop a slate of projects that reflect Adam’s interests and values, and also match his larger-than-life presence and personality. It’s been an exciting start, and we’re eager to bring these first projects to market.”
Stay tuned for updates.
