Drew McIntyre has been one of the key figures on the Friday Night SmackDown brand for some time now and he kicked off a heated feud with Cody Rhodes back in August of last year.
The Scottish Warrior finally picked up a big victory over The American Nightmare back in January when he defeated Cody to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
However, Drew’s run came to an end last week on SmackDown when Cody defeated Drew in a rematch to win the title for the third time in his career. Now that Cody is the Undisputed WWE Champion once again it’s been confirmed that he will be defending the belt against Randy Orton who won the men’s Elimination Chamber match last month.
With Drew now seemingly out of the title picture fans have been wondering who he could face on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and PWInsider is reporting that Drew McIntyre appears to be set for a match with Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42.
Jacob has had his sights set on Drew ever since he returned to television back in January, and he played a big role in the title match last week when he pulled a steel chair from Drew’s arms as Drew was getting ready to attack Cody. It had been rumored that WWE was considering a possible Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu match for WrestleMania, but ultimately the company decided to move forward with Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton.
