The road to WrestleMania has been eventful to say the least as some big matches have been confirmed in recent weeks. Last month Randy Orton punched his ticket to WrestleMania when won the men’s Elimination Chamber match.

Orton’s opponent was solidified during the most recent episode of SmackDown when Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to win the Undisputed WWE Championship and now The Viper and The American Nightmare are set to face off on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Heading into WrestleMania season it was rumored that WWE had been considering a multi man match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Show of Shows this year. Fans have recently been discussing the possibility of WWE adding more names to the Orton vs. Rhodes match, but that doesn’t appear to be in the cards.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that as things stand right now Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton is the plan for WrestleMania 42, and there are no plans to turn the bout into a three way, or four way match.

Prior to the title change on SmackDown last week, it had been reported that Jacob Fatu was receiving a lot of support within WWE creative regarding his involvement with the title picture at WrestleMania. A possible triple threat match involving Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu was also rumored to be one of the options discussed for WrestleMania.

However, it seems that WWE has picked a direction and that direction is Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton. At this point it’s not clear what Drew McIntyre will be doing at WrestleMania, but all signs seem to point to a potential McIntyre vs. Fatu match.
