The road to WrestleMania is always full of twists and turns, and last year Kevin Owens was pulled from the show due to injury. Originally Owens was set to face off against Randy Orton on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but he announced ahead of WrestleMania that he suffered a neck injury that would require surgery, which has kept him out of action indefinitely.
Bodyslam is reporting that Kevin Owens is set to undergo re-evaluation this summer to see how things are moving along regarding his recovery. Another source noted that WWE is hopeful Kevin Owens will be able to return to the ring at some point in 2026.
Kevin Owens underwent successful neck surgery back in July of 2025, and in August of 2025 he noted that he was keeping his fingers crossed for a potential return.
“Yeah, I needed neck fusion. It was very stressful going into it because we weren’t really sure how severe the fusion was going to be, how many levels, all this stuff. Thankfully, it ended up only being one level, which is the best case scenario for something like this. The surgery was successful, I had a great doctor.
The thing is now we have to see how the bones fuse and there’s no guarantee that it’s going to work. It’s how my body heals, some guys had success, some guys didn’t. Fingers crossed I get to come back to wrestling in the next year, really don’t know though. My goal is come back so hopefully that happens.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Kevin Owens’ status as they become available.
