WWE Elimination Chamber aired live from the United Center in Chicago last weekend and WWE finally revealed who was in the mystery crate during the show. Heading into the show betting odds suggested that Danhausen was inside the crate, and he was indeed the person behind the big reveal.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that CM Punk spearheaded the idea of bringing Danhausen in. It’s being said that there were mixed feelings on Danhausen as his first segment was booed. His segment on Raw was filmed backstage to avoid a possible negative reaction.
Regarding his AEW departure it was noted that Danhausen vocally and publicly backed CM Punk in AEW. According to the report there were a number of reasons why Tony Khan stopped using Danhausen, but it was enough that Khan stopped using him then extended his deal when Danhausen made it clear he wanted out.
Following his WWE debut Danhausen’s merchandise is selling well and it was recently reported that the company has been pleasantly surprised with the amount of merch that’s been sold so far.
