Last year Jey Uso had some serious momentum on his side as he won the Royal Rumble then went on to challenge Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. Ultimately Jey Uso won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career when he made Gunther tap out to a sleeper hold.
The finish was heavily debated among fans in the months that followed, but Gunther explained during a recent appearance on What Do You Wanna Talk About? that he had no issues with the way things played out.
“With Jey, at the moment, that’s the thing. I can swallow my pride. When it’s over, it’s over. I have no issue with that. If the audience views that as a weakness, let them be. It’s alright.”
While Gunther and Jey Uso were both featured in a prominent match at WrestleMania last year there’s currently no word on what WWE has planned for them at WrestleMania 42. It was recently reported that Gunther’s opponent for WrestleMania has not been determined. Currently Jey Uso is one half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions alongside his brother, but there’s been no indication regarding whether or not The Usos will be defending their titles on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
