Over the last few months Gunther has become one of the most talked about stars on the WWE roster. The Ring General defeated John Cena in his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event back in December, and he also retired AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble in January.
With Gunther picking up two dominant wins against two of the most successful stars in the history of the company one would think that WWE would have a big WrestleMania match lined up for him, but so far nothing has been teased on TV.
It was recently noted on WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that Gunther’s opponent for WrestleMania is undetermined. The report also noted that “in the eyes of the internet” Gunther’s top three options for opponents seem to be Rey Mysterio, Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, but at this point nothing is 100 percent for Gunther at WrestleMania, and it’s not clear what direction WWE is going to go.
Recently Gunther has been feuding with Dragon Lee. This week on Monday Night Raw, Gunther picked up a win over Dragon Lee and he also unmasked the former WWE World Tag Team Champion. Due to how heated his feud with Dragon Lee has become it will be interesting to see if Rey Mysterio gets involved in the weeks to come.
So far nothing has been teased regarding a potential WrestleMania match for Oba Femi, but Brock Lesnar announced earlier this month that he is holding an open challenge for the Show of Shows.
