A few weeks ago a mystery crate debuted on Monday Night Raw with the words “Do No Open Until 2-28-26” written on the outside. Everyone has been wondering what, or who, might be inside the crate, and during the Elimination Chamber premium live event it was revealed to be Danhausen.
Following Danhausen’s WWE debut at Elimination Chamber, Dave Meltzer discussed the segment on Wrestling Observer Radio and compared it to the infamous Gobbledy Gooker segment.
“I mean, it was the Gobbledy Gooker. That’s what it was. They finally managed to do another Gobbledy Gooker. We’ll see. It’s a weird one, because with Paul Levesque, the way he books, I don’t see where this guy fits in. He could do the R-Truth thing, but they have R-Truth. You don’t need two R-Truths. I know he’s not the same thing, but it’s just sort of that gimmick mascot guy that doesn’t wrestle.”
Meltzer then went on to claim that some people in WWE didn’t want Danhausen to join the company when he added, “People pushed for him. There were people who didn’t want him. It was not a unanimous decision or anything like that. I would guess that the people who didn’t want him are thinking like, ‘Hmm, sure didn’t work out so well this time.’ But time will tell. He’ll get another chance.“
Heading into Elimination Chamber betting odds had Danhausen listed as the favorite for the mystery crate reveal. Speculation regarding him potentially joining WWE picked up over the last few days after Danhausen confirmed that he had finished up with AEW.
