The Miz has been with WWE for over two decades now, but it’s no big secret that he didn’t exactly have the best of beginnings when he started with the company. The former Real World star wasn’t openly accepted when he joined the company as he was at one point kicked out of the locker room.
While talking to The Undertaker about his early days with WWE on Taker’s Six Feet Under podcast The Miz shut down rumors that he was bullied by JBL and noted that he was bullied more by people who weren’t in top spots.
“JBL gets a lot of flack for bullying and was an a****** or whatever. He gets a lot of that. It wasn’t really him. He was the person that would take me aside and go, ‘Hey, kid, you’re doing a good job. Keep doing this. Keep it up.’
It was more the people around that weren’t in the spots. It was the people that weren’t solidified that were trying to be like, ‘Hey, watch me get this Real World kid. I’m gonna really stiff him tonight. Watch this.’”
While The Miz had a rough start with WWE he’s still going strong to this day. Throughout the course of his career he’s managed to become a two time WWE Grand Slam Champion, and he is consistently featured on Friday Night SmackDown.
