Last week Ava made a shocking announcement when she revealed that she would be parting ways with WWE. Ava had been consistently appearing on WWE programming as the NXT General Manager, but she confirmed that her appearance on last week’s episode of NXT would be her last as she decided not to renew her contract.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed Ava’s WWE departure on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that she chose not to sign a new deal with WWE because it was just something she didn’t want to do anymore.
“I’ve talked to and heard from several people and the general thing was is just she didn’t want to do it anymore. There was no compelling reason. It was just one of those things where her parents own a studio and they thought that she’s probably going to end up working there. She doesn’t have to do it.”
It’s also being reported that Tatyanna Dumas was recently cut from WWE, but it’s not clear if Dumas getting cut impacted Ava’s decision to part ways with the company.
“One person had contacted me and mentioned Tatyanna Dumas, who is her girlfriend, was cut, which we didn’t hear just a couple of weeks ago. They weren’t quite saying that’s why she quit but it was something that people put one and one together that maybe that had something to do with it, maybe it didn’t, I don’t know.”
Meltzer clarified that the decision was Ava’s when he added, “It was her decision, it’s not like they were going to get rid of her or anything like that.”
