The last few weeks have been eventful for Cody Rhodes as he dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre and then kicked off a heated feud with Jacob Fatu. The American Nightmare has also been noticeably more aggressive recently which has led to some speculation among fans that he could be heading for a heel turn.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that they’ve been told a Cody Rhodes heel turn is not happening right now. It’s being said that a Cody heel turn won’t happen until it’s deemed that it has to. The feeling is that it’s too soon and Cody’s merchandise numbers are not something that the company wants to tinker with.

During last week’s episode of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre revealed that he put a no rematch clause in the contract for his title match with Cody, which means that Cody will have to work his way back up from the bottom.

Despite Cody getting sent to the back of the line it was recently reported that a Rhodes vs. Fatu vs. McIntyre triple threat match, and another Rhodes vs. McIntyre singles match are two of the options being considered for WrestleMania this year.

Cody Rhodes will be going one on one with Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend, so it will be interesting to see how the match plays out.

Stay tuned for updates.
