A number of notable names have been making moves in recent weeks and it was recently revealed that The Rascalz had signed with All Elite Wrestling. However, fans couldn’t help but notice when The Rascalz debuted on AEW TV that Trey Miguel was nowhere to be seen.

Fightful Select later reported that Trey Miguel had been released from his contract with AEW, but the reason for the release was not revealed, and Miguel remained on amicable terms with AEW following his departure.

Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the release on Wrestling Observer Radio and Alvarez claimed that it had nothing to do with AEW talent, or Tony Khan.

“No one’s really saying much. Well, some people are saying certain things, but my understanding is whatever it is, it came from up above. I know there’s a lot of rumors but it had nothing to do with anybody in AEW talent, anything like that, or Tony (Khan). Something happened from way up and he was released,” Alvarez said.

Trey Miguel recently broke his silence on the release when he posted the following statement on social media:

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my time. I’ve always apologized and did my best to put a better foot forward after. I don’t preach hate and I don’t take any pride in being hateful. I’m a man of faith, I believe in forgiveness and only ever preach that. I’m a different man today.”
