Backstage News On William Regal’s Role And Who’s Involved With WWE Creative

Back in January of 2022, William Regal was released from WWE and he jumped to All Elite Wrestling shortly after. However, Regal parted ways with AEW in December of 2022, then later returned to WWE in 2023, and he’s been working behind the scenes ever since.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that William Regal’s role with WWE isn’t really creative. Instead Regal’s role is to critique the style and believability of the matches during the shows.

Michael Hayes is a day of the show producer, and is part of creative on the biggest shows. Paul Heyman is involved with long term discussions and is said to be hands on with the creative for people he’s working with such as The Vision, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

It’s also being said that although it’s been denied publicly Nick Khan has a voice in creative. However, Triple is the only person Nick Khan deals with and he doesn’t deal directly with the creative team.

Recently it was reported that WWE is making major changes to creative plans following Drew McIntyre’s Undisputed WWE Championship win on SmackDown last week, and you can get more details on that here.
