A few months ago CM Punk won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event when he defeated Jey Uso for the vacant championship. Last week on Raw, Punk defended the title for the first time when Bron Breakker challenged him for the gold, and it was Punk who walked out with the belt.
This week on Raw, CM Punk made his way out into the arena and he told the fans that it’s his plan to be champion forever. He said he can’t wait to find out who his next challenger is and Finn Balor interrupted him.
CM Punk told Finn that he vowed to be a fighting champion, so he’s ready to head to the back, put his gear on and defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Balor tonight.
Finn Balor told Punk that he doesn’t have to worry about Dom or JD, but he won’t be alone. He said that he’s watched Punk take home field advantage in Chicago throughout his career, and next WWE is in Belfast, Ireland. Balor told Punk that he’s challenging him for the title next week on Raw, and he’s going to become the new champion. Punk responded as he told Finn he’s on, and the fans in Ireland are going to watch him put Finn to sleep with the GTS.
