This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to emanate from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany and the show will feature a major title match. Cody Rhodes will be putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line when he defends the belt against Drew McIntyre and there’s a lot of anticipation heading into the match.
Bodyslam is reporting that the match is expected to close the show and receive upwards of 30 minutes. It’s also being reported that there is a push internally from multiple personnel to have Drew McIntyre beat Cody Rhodes for the championship after his unsuccessful pursuit of the title over the last few months.
Drew McIntyre’s feud with Cody kicked off back in August and The American Nightmare has defended his title against Drew three separate times since then. On SmackDown they will face off in a Three Stages of Hell match which will include a traditional wrestling match, a Falls Count Anywhere match, and a Steel Cage match.
In addition to the Undisputed WWE Championship match, Trick Williams vs. Rey Fenix and The Wyatt Sticks vs. MFT have been confirmed for tonight’s show and Randy Orton is scheduled to appear.
Stay tuned for updates.
