It’s no big secret that Friday Night SmackDown has been in a rut for some time as many fans feel that the show is in need of a shake up. Recently it was confirmed that SmackDown will be moving back to 3 hours on January 2nd, and it looks like WWE will be making some changes to the show.
Bodyslam is reporting that WWE is expected to give the SmackDown roster a little bit of a boost when the show moves back to three hours. It’s being said that WWE is aware the SmackDown brand desperately needs help when it comes to creative, and talent, and are discussing ways to improve the show.
In recent months WWE has featured NXT talent on SmackDown from time to time. During this week’s show Oba Femi made an appearance when he stepped up to Cody Rhodes ahead of their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It seems that SmackDown is in need of some fresh feuds, so it will be interesting to see if any of NXT’s top stars get called up to the brand in the future.
