John Cena kicked off his retirement tour back in January, and there’s only one date left on his schedule. The former WWE Champion will be stepping into the ring one more time at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th in Washington D.C.

In the world of professional wrestling retirements rarely stick, but Cena has insisted that he is going to stick to his word when he finally hangs up his jorts for good.

While talking about his future during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Cena remained adamant that he will not be stepping into the ring again after he retires.

“23 years of performing in WWE, and we’re down to our last date. It’s been a crazy year where I announced this like 15 months in advance that I’m going to retire. This has really never been done in WWE history. WWE Superstars don’t necessarily retire, they always kind of hang on for one more match. I am absolutely 100 percent done. The 13th of December on Peacock is my last in-ring performance.”

For weeks now WWE stars have been competing in The Last Time Is Now Tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent. It’s come down to LA Knight and Gunther who are currently set to face off in the finals next week on Monday Night Raw.
