Survivor Series is set to air live from Petco Park on Saturday night and the show will feature two huge WarGames matches. After Survivor Series wraps up the next premium live event on WWE’s schedule will be the Royal Rumble, which means seeds are likely to be planted for WrestleMania season sooner rather than later.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the belief is that there will be a major tease for a top WrestleMania match at Survivor Series this weekend. Originally Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins was planned to be the biggest match on the WrestleMania 42 card. The idea was that Reigns vs. Rollins would have been the main event of night 2, but it looks like WWE will be going in a different direction due to Seth’s injury.
It’s being said that every key booking point for the top few people in the company is meant to build matches tentatively planned for WrestleMania 42 in 2026, and WrestleMania 43 in 2027.
During the most recent episode of Raw, Roman Reigns teased going after a title, but didn’t specify if he was talking about the Undisputed WWE Championship or the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Roman hinting that he could be challenging Rhodes, Punk, or someone else for one of the belts is part of the planned direction, and the expectation is that there will be more hints in the men’s WarGames match with Punk, Rhodes and Reigns.
