This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was a massive show as it was John Cena’s last Raw and the show also featured several big returns. Maxxine Dupri challenged Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship and Maxxine managed to win the belt for the first time in her career after AJ Lee returned and distracted Lynch.
After the match AJ Lee was interviewed backstage and asked if she’s going to be sticking around. Rhea Ripley then asked AJ Lee if they could talk as the two stars walked off screen.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that AJ Lee is set to join Rhea Ripley’s team for WarGames, but that is not official just yet. Currently Rhea Ripley’s steam consists of herself, Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss while the heel team consists of Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Asuka and Kairi Sane.
AJ Lee last stepped into the ring when she teamed with her husband CM Punk to defeat the team of Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at the WrestlePalooza premium live event back in September. It’s been rumored for some time now that Becky Lynch is also planned for the women’s WarGames match. One way or another it will be interesting to see how things play out on the road to Survivor Series.
