Over the last few years there have been a number of breakout stars in wrestling, one of which happens to be Joe Hendry. The former TNA Wrestling World Champion has been making frequent appearances on NXT programming for some time now, and it seems that he is now officially with WWE.
Fightful Select reports that sources in TNA Wrestling have confirmed that Joe Hendry is done with the promotion in an official capacity. According to the report Joe Hendry is effectively full-time with WWE now and is part of the company.
It’s being said that Hendry is someone WWE wanted to bring in for a long time. Shawn Michaels is one person who had been vocal regarding how much he liked Joe Hendry, and wanted the company to buy out his deal with TNA Wrestling. A number of months remained on his contract with Total Nonstop Action, but moving forward Hendry is part of WWE.
Joe Hendry is not on the internal listing for the upcoming TNA Wrestling events this weekend. However, people who spoke on the situation have said that Hendry lives in the area, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he dropped by. Hendry was not booked for the Bound For Glory pay-per-view back in October, and was not backstage at the event.
Hendry will be in action at NXT Gold Rush next week as he’s currently set to team with Thea Hail to challenge Ethan Page & Chelsea Green for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship.
