Why Ric Flair Was Pulled From AEW Dynamite This Week

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was a huge show as the event featured two Blood and Guts matches. Originally Ric Flair was advertised for the show, but he didn’t end up appearing on television.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Ric Flair was in attendance for Dynamite in Greensboro, North Carolina and he made a brief appearance in front of the live crowd. According to the report The Nature Boy left after his appearance as he was said to have been in a “ton of pain” due to a recent rotator cuff tear.

At this point in time it’s not clear how Flair suffered the injury. However, it was noted that AEW had to make some changes as Ric Flair was originally booked for something else on the show. It’s assumed that he was supposed to be part of the Ricky Steamboat segment with FTR.

Earlier this year Ric Flair confirmed that he’s still under contract with All Elite Wrestling although he has rarely been used following Sting’s retirement in 2024.
