John Cena’s retirement tour kicked off back in January and it’s almost over. The former champion only has four WWE events left on his retirement tour, one of which is the annual Survivor Series premium live event. Everyone’s been wondering what Cena’s role will be at Survivor Series, and it sounds like he could potentially be involved in a huge match.

Ibou of Self Made is reporting that John Cena is working WarGames. Cory Hays of Bodyslam also noted that the idea has been discussed for a few weeks, and he clarified that the idea was for John Cena to work the actual WarGames match. John Cena has done just about all there is to do in WWE, but he has yet to compete in a WarGames match. If WWE does indeed move forward with this plan then Cena will be stepping into the WarGames structure for the first time in his career.

Recently the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that original plans for WarGames called for CM Punk, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu and either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight to face Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory.

WWE had to make major adjustments to creative plans in recent weeks as Seth Rollins is now out of action due to injury, and Jacob Fatu is also sidelined for the time being. During last week’s episode of Raw, Logan Paul seemingly formed an alliance with The Vision, so it will be interesting to see how things play out in the weeks to come.

Survivor Series will be John Cena’s final WWE premium live event as he will only have one more date left after the show. Cena’s final match is set to take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, and a tournament to determine his final opponent will kick off this week on Raw.
