This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was a very special show as it was John Cena’s final appearance in Boston. The end of John Cena’s farewell tour is quickly approaching and Cena gave the fans in the TD Garden a night to remember on his way out.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce had informed fans ahead of time that Cena would be kicking off the show and he did just that. Unfortunately for John Cena he was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio, and Triple H made a match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the spot.
Near the end of the match Dom connected with the 619, then went to the top rope for the splash. When he landed John picked him up and hit the AA for the win.
John Cena managed to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career when he defeated Dominik Mysterio. Cena’s win solidifies him as a Grand Slam Champion as the Intercontinental Championship was the one title he had not won until tonight.
After the match John Cena celebrated with the title and thanked the fans in Boston.
