Back in 2019, Chris Jericho made a bold move when he signed with All Elite Wrestling. In the months that followed Chris Jericho went on to become the first ever AEW World Champion and he’s been one of the top stars in the company over the last few years.
Recently there’s been a lot of talk about what Jericho’s future holds as his current contract with All Elite Wrestling is set to expire at the end of the year. It’s been rumored that Jericho could be returning to WWE when his AEW deal is up and the former WWE Undisputed Champion seemingly threw fuel on the fire when he posted a photo of himself alongside Kevin Owens.
Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens have a lot of history as they had a high profile friendship and feud which played out during Jericho’s last run with WWE. A quick look at the comments in Jericho’s post makes it clear to see that fans are thrilled to see him and Owens reunited.
Whether or not we’ll be able to see a Jericho and Owens reunion on television remains to be seen as Jericho is still under contract with AEW, and Owens is currently sidelined due to injury.
The first ever AEW World Champion has not appeared on AEW programming since April and it was recently reported that there’s been no talk of creative plans for his return to TV. It’s also worth noting that Jericho recently abandoned an AEW related trademark.
One way or another it will be interesting to see what Chris Jericho’s status is when WrestleMania season kicks off with the Royal Rumble in January.
