Matt Riddle is never one to shy away from controversy and he recently got the wrestling world talking when he appeared on TMZ’s Inside The Ring and got into a physical altercation one of the hosts.
During the show Matt Riddle talked about a hypothetical fight with Jake Paul, and he criticized the opponents Paul has faced for being past their prime while explaining how he thinks he would fare against Jake.
The host Branson Quirke then accused Riddle of looking for a payday when he said, “I feel like you’re kind of looking more so for a payday. No that’s not what I’m trying to say.”
Riddle then replied, “This is the thing, I like when people either say, ‘That’s not what I’m trying to say,’ or ‘No disrespect.’ When you f*****g say something disrespectful. Let’s be honest, I’ve done your f*****g sh***y podcast how many times? Three, four f*****g times. I’m not even f*****g here to talk to you motherf****r. I’m here to wrestle at MLW where I was the former world champion, and I’m about to be the f*****g world champion again. I don’t know why, bringing up CM Punk, I get a bunch of f*****g headaches all the f*****g time.”
The host then insisted that they could stop the podcast if Riddle wanted to and Riddle asked, “What are you f*****g worried about?” Riddle then proceeded to grab the host and place on the table that was on set before slapping him in the face. As Quirke tried to get back up Riddle shoved him to the floor again.
Branson Quirke later took to social media to ask if Matt Riddle’s reaction was justified.
