There are only three months left in 2025 and everyone knows that as soon as the new year arrives the wrestling world will be talking about the road to WrestleMania which kicks off with the Royal Rumble premium live event.
One of the best things about the Royal Rumble matches are the surprise returns and Matt Cardona’s name has been rumored for a Royal Rumble appearance for years now. Cardona recently returned to WWE programming as part of the invasion angle that’s taking place in NXT, and his wife Chelsea Green told Cinemablend that she’s hoping next year will be the year he finally returns to the Royal Rumble.
“Now, as we’re entering our ninth year of being together, I would love him at WWE, and I know that that’s his goal. I know he wants to go back and be doing WrestleManias and be traveling with me, and you know, like with all his friends. His best friends are still here, too. So I’m hoping that he gets back. My fingers are also crossed for that. 2026, the year of Matt Cardona, maybe in The Rumble.”
Matt Cardona was released from WWE in 2020 after fifteen years with the company. He hasn’t been shy about letting the world know that he’s open to returning, so it will be interesting to see how the next few months play out for the former WWE Intercontinental Champion.
