Over the weekend WWE kicked off their partnership with ESPN with the first ever WWE WrestlePalooza premium live event. The show emanated from Indianapolis, IN and aired live on ESPN’s new streaming platform. Following WrestlePalooza a reviewer for ESPN got the wrestling world talking when they gave the show a C rating.

It was reported on WrestleVotes Radio that there were a number of people within WWE that were surprised and puzzled that ESPN published an article that rated their first WWE PLE with a C. It’s being said that those within the company were openly wondering why ESPN would want that kind of online stigma after what was considered to be a fairly standard event.

WrestlePalooza kicked off with a Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena match which saw Lesnar pick up a decisive victory after destroying Cena. Later in the night Stephanie Vaquer picked up a win over Iyo Sky to win the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship in a match that seemed to be well received. The show also featured AJ Lee’s return match and Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in the main event.

WWE’s next premium live event on ESPN’s streaming service will be Crown Jewel: Perth which is set to take place on Saturday, October 10th. Stay tuned for updates.
