Anticipation is at an all time high heading into tonight’s episode of SmackDown in Chicago, IL as John Cena is expected to make his final appearance on the blue brand. Cena will only have 7 appearances following tonight’s show and it looks like he’ll be ending his run on SmackDown with a bang.
Bodyslam.net is reporting that current plans call for John Cena to face off against Sami Zayn on Friday Night SmackDown this week. The idea is that the match will pay homage to John Cena’s 2015 WWE United States Championship open challenge. Cory Hays of Bodyslam also noted on social media that SmackDown will have a major opening segment and a huge closing segment.
Other matches reportedly set for the show include the following:
– Michin vs Giulia
– Damian Priest vs Aleister Black
Randy Orton is set for a segment with Drew McIntyre, and it’s also being reported that Becky Lynch is in Chicago ahead of tonight’s show. During this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch attacked CM Punk, and Punk told her that she’s going to regret putting her hands on him. Over the last few days it’s been heavily rumored that AJ Lee will be making her return to team up with CM Punk to face Becky and Seth Rollins at WrestlePalooza later this month.
