This week the stars of WWE Friday Night SmackDown traveled to Lyon, France and the show featured a huge main event. Solo Sikoa put the WWE United States Championship on the line when he defended the belt against Sami Zayn, and the MFTs stood at ringside during the match.

After a few minutes Jimmy Uso made his way out to even the odds, but Tonga Loa and JC Mateo beat him down. Jacob Fatu then appeared and brawled with Tala Tonga. He knocked Tala Tonga over the barricade and they battled into the crowd. Jimmy and the rest of the MFTs soon followed.

Sami Zayn went for his finisher, but Solo rolled out of the ring. Zayn chased him, but Solo hit Sami with a Spinning Solo on the announce table. Solo then picked up the United States Championship and celebrated with the belt. Solo followed up and hit Sami with the Spinning Solo two more times on the announce table.

Back in the ring Sami connected with a sunset flip powerbomb off the turnbuckle for a two count. Solo hit a Samoan Drop then went to the top for a splash, but Sami kicked out at two.

Sikoa set Sami up for the Samoan Spike and Sami rolled him up. Solo kicked out at two and Sami followed up with an Exploder Suplex into the corner. He went for his finisher and Solo countered with a kick of his own. Sami finally landed the finisher twice in a row then pinned Solo to become the new WWE United States Champion.

After the match Sami celebrated with the belt as Michael Cole pointed out that he had just won the United States Championship for the first time in his career.
